Earth2Tech is reporting that Cisco has launched a software upgrade to manage the energy of switches, and plans to eventually use the software to control the energy consumption of PCs and IP phones, as well as lighting, heating and cooling for buildings. That’ll help Cisco’s customers save on their energy bills. Who knew the network could be so handy?
