Schell is a managing director at Associated Partners, a private equity firm and Elfman is Sprint (NYSE: S) Nextel’s president of Network Operations and Wholesale. The nominations were part of the agreement between the company and its investors, including Google (NSDQ: GOOG), Comcast (NSDQ: CMCSA), Time Warner (NYSE: TWX) Cable and Bright House Networks. Elfman was nominated by Sprint, the majority shareholder of the Company, and Mr. Schell was nominated by the investment group.
— *Motorola* appoints new corporate controller: Motorola (NYSE: MOT) has appointed Edward J. Fitzpatrick, 42, to the position of SVP and Corporate Controller, replacing Laurel Meissner who resigned from her position as SVP and Chief Accounting Officer in December, according to a document filed with the SEC. Fitzpatrick worked in the finance division of several groups within the Motorola since July 2005.
