Industry Moves: Universal Music’s Adam Flick Out, Thumbplay’s Mitch Rotter In As Marketing Head

Adam Flick, VP of marketing at Universal Music Group Distribution, has left the company to pursue other opportunities, a spokesman confirmed today. Flick was appointed VP of marketing for Universal Music Mobile in 2006, where he worked on marketing and promotional activities with wireless carriers, mobile content distributors, device manufacturers and infrastructure providers. Flick has been replaced by Mitch Rotter, the former SVP of content acquisition and strategy at Thumbplay. A spokeswoman at Thumbplay said Rotter’s departure has led to some internal reshuffling: Chris Phenner has been promoted from SVP to EVP of business development and will take over Rotter’s role of content licensing; a new director of content licensing (that job is still open) will report to Phenner.
