— Archant: Privately-owned regional newspaper group Archant is making at least 20 staff redundant at its main office in Ipswich, home of the Ipswich Evening Star and the East Anglian Daily Times and a series of magazines. Archant Suffolk MD Stuart McCreery says in a memo to staff: “The outlook is not positive…it is clear that we cannot continue to operate with the same cost base.” The company is also shutting half of its London offices in a bid to cut costs, with staff based at Swiss Cottage, Harlesden, Hornsey, East Ham, Romford and Dagenham due to be relocated.
