Blackberry’s Research In Motion is extending its offer to acquire encryption software company Certicom Corp. until Jan. 27, giving shareholders 12 more days to consider the CDN $52.5 million cash offer. All other terms of the offer remain the same. The deal has heated up, with Certicom pleading with the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the Ontario Securities Commission to stop RIM’s offer from proceeding.
