Got experience doing financial analysis inside a media or entertainment company and thinking about a career change? We’d love to hear from you. We’re interviewing candidates to write for the site about the financial side of the media and entertainment industries across various sub-sectors and geographies. The financial reporters will cover public and private companies, and write about everything from earnings and SEC filings to M&A and venture investments.
Qualifications:
An ease with numbers is, of course, key, but candidates must also have strong reporting and writing skills. We want people who can break news and also shape the conversation with their analytical abilities. The right candidates will be naturally inquisitive and enterprising, work well in a deadline environment and collaborate effectively with colleagues. Two to five years experience as a financial analyst/strategist at a media or entertainment company. College degree preferred.
The candidate:
— For public companies, will help report on quarterly earnings, cover earning calls, keep track of SEC filings (primarily 10-Q, 10-K and S-1), and other key financials.
— On the private company side, will track venture investments and crunch numbers based on publicly available information.
— Will be reporting from various conferences related to M&A, venture capital, deals and digital media industry in general
— Will work on a mix of assigned and self-selected stories.
