Interactive ad producer DigitalArbor has raised $5 million in a first round funding led by Flybridge Capital Partners. The Boston-based company was founded earlier this year by former Digitas exec Robert Willms. While there, he helped set up a digital production service dubbed “Prodigious.” Timed for its funding news, DigitalArbor has just launched its first offshore digital production unit. The company doesn’t go into detail about its new facility, though it does point out that it’s staffed by “highly-skilled Costa Rican-based creative production and technology teams.” Willms believes that aside from pushing his digital creative abililites, the need for a third party to handle the basic production work at a lower cost will appeal to agencies, considering the current pressures from the ad recession.
