Broadband Content Bits: Trinity Buys Zoomf; Telegraph Gaming Channel; Press Association Rebrands

Trinity Mirror (LSE: TNI) buys property search tool: Beleaguered national and regional newspaper publisher Trinity Mirror has snapped up property search engine Zoomf for an undisclosed fee, according to The Negotiator, confirmed by the Zoomf blog. It adds to the company’s existing online property portfolio including Fish4Homes, SmartNewHomes.com and email4property.co.uk. It all sounds like part of CEO Sly Bailey’s stated aim of growing digital revenue to replace falling print income.

Telegraph launches gaming channel: Telegraph Media Group (TMG) is investing in online gaming with the launch of dedicated games site Cluedup, created by developer World Archipeligo. The site will offer more than 50 new sudoku puzzles, crosswords and assorted brainteasers a week — and TMG will be hoping to add to the 10,000 paying subscribers it already has for its games. Subscribers pay upwards of £2.99 a month, meaning that today the company makes at least £29,900 from games, which in these troubled times for the newspaper biz is not to be sniffed at. Press Association in birthday rebrand: Press Association has used the occasion of its 140th birthday to rebrand its business, relaunch its website and begin a process of bringing all the strands of its vast operations under the PA umbrella brand in an attempt to show it has become a fully digital, multimedia business. All existing sub-brands, e.g. PA Photos still has its own website, will be integrated into “one clear identity” in the next six months. Release.
