RIM has been extremely active lately and while I am still waiting for Verizon to launch the touch-centric Storm the Bold is a formidable Blackberry in every way. I haven’t had a chance to play with one myself but Om Malik of GigaOM has one in his hands and has published a review of the Bold. I am jealous I admit, especially since I think the Blackberry is one of the best communication devices on the planet. Om tends to agree with that given his glowing review and in fact only finds fault with the web browsing experience. He admits that is probably the fault of the poor AT&T 3G service he gets in San Francisco and that is a shame. I don’t have any complaints with the AT&T 3G here in Houston so maybe Om should send me his Bold? You think?
Here’s a taste of what Om thinks of the Bold to tide you over til you get over to read his review:
What really blows me away about the Bold is its interface, which is avast improvement over previous generations of BlackBerrys (though itsmiles behind the iPhone). There are a lot of subtle improvements, fromicons to folders (both hi-res) to the ability to sift through a lot ofapplications with a smooth rollerball.
UPDATE: I see that Walmart is already offering the AT&T Bold for free given rebates and such.
