Industry Moves: Five Picks Digi MD, Harvest Digital, Guardian Reorg

– Channel 4/Five: Channel 4’s director of acquisitions Jeff Ford is returning to Five as digital channels and acquisitions MD, overseeing the Five US and Fiver TV stations and replacing their current head channels Hannah Barnes. Ford was Five’s managing editor before leaving in 2005 and is the latest hire from Five CEO Dawn Airey, who joined from ITV (LSE: ITV) in April. Via Broadcast.

Harvest Digital: The marketing agency is hiring Ben Knight as head of search. Knight comes from Tradedoubler, which he moved in to in 2007 through its acquisition of Search Works, his previous company.

– Guardian: The news publisher has detailed the multiplatform reorganisation of its newsroom in to print-and-web “pods”, ahead of its move to Kings Cross next month. Guardian.co.uk news editor Steve Busfield becomes head of media and technology, Jason Deans becomes MediaGuardian.co.uk editor, Damian Carrington heads the environment news pod, Jon Casson is made production head across print and online and five cross-platform jobs are created to handle the group’s sports output.
