Mobile Content Bits: Telefonica Calls Microsoft; Google Earth For iPhone; EA Mobile For Android

– Microsoft (NSDQ: MSFT) has choosen Telefonica (NYSE: TEF) to provide VoIP services to Windows Live Messenger in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Peru, the U.S. and Venezuela, reports Cnet. Called Voype, Telefonica’s VoIP service will enable Windows Live customers to make calls directly from their PCs to any landline or mobile phone in the world. Calls to other Live Messenger users are free, and calls made to landlines or cell phones in the U.S. will cost $0.014 per minute. Rates are higher in Canada and the U.K., with a minute costing $0.055 and $0.023, respectively.

— Google (NSDQ: GOOG) said today on its blog that “Google Earth,” the services that allows you to scan over the entire globe visually, is now available for the iPhone and iPod touch. The company said since Google Earth was launched online in 2005, they’ve had more than 400 million unique downloads. Users will be able to automatically find their location, and view over “eight million Panoramio photos, which are geo-located photos of places.” The app will be free on the iTunes App store.

— Tetris, the best-selling mobile game, is now available to Android users for $8, according to EA Mobile. The company also launched an Android version of Monopoly.
