Pandora laid off 20 of its 140 employees today, founder Tim Westergren announced in a blog post. Pandora has seen incredible success with its application for the iPhone that was released when the App Store launched. Earlier this month, Westergren said the application has helped Pandora double its growth rate from 20,000 new users a day to almost 40,000 and that it accounts for half of the company’s new listeners. The list of startups cutting staff and other costs in the face of mounting economic pressure is growing and few are immune to the challenges knocking on everyone
