VMtv, Virgin Media’s (NSDQ: VMED) channel production wing, is embarking on a restructure that will see it appoint its first digital head. Media planning head Ivan Ali-Khan is promoted to the role, charged with developing VMtv’s brands on broadband, VOD and mobile, NMA says. Channels in the former Flextech/ntl JV’s portfolio include Virgin 1, Bravo, Living and Trouble. VMtv last year shut the Trouble Homegrown UGC website affiliated with Trouble, intending to pool most of its UGC activities in the newly-launched Virgin 1 channel – but there’s been precious little around the raft of American imports so far. VMtv MD Jonathan Webb (via NMA): “For VMtv, the future is going to be about two things: the strength of our brands, and the scope of our digital ambitions.”
