Canadian scheduling service Tungle has closed its first round of funding of $5 million, led by Commonwealth Capital Ventures. Existing investors, including JLA Ventures and Desjardins Venture Capital, also participated. The company said it would use the funding to expand marketing and engineering activities. Tungle also launched the open beta version of its free web scheduling service, allowing users to share their calendars with others, while working with Outlook — with or without *Microsoft* Exchange — as well as *Google* Calendar, *Apple* iCal, Entourage, or on its own. The service works both on browsers and on smartphones, as it is formatted for each device’s display. Release.
