The firm that brings us the Blackberry has posted very good financial results for Q2. RIM reported revenue of $2.58 billion, up 15% from the previous quarter ad a whopping 88% from the same quarter last year. Device sales accounted for 82% as RIM shipped 6.1 million Blackberries and added 2.6 million net new subscriber accounts. This shows how the Blackberry phenomenon continues to grow as RIM continues to make inroads into the consumer market. Blackberries have long been a staple in the enterprise but RIM has seen a successful push into the consumer space. That push should become a shove as the Bold has just recently been released and the first Blackberry with a touch screen, the Storm, is poised for release.
