Industry Moves: Glam;; Microsoft; Epic; Siegel+Gale; Peer39; Avenue A-Razorfish

Glam Media: Scott Schiller has been promoted to the new position of EVP of global marketing, where he will lead the U.S. women’s ad sales team and report directly to CEO Samir Arora. With over 20 years of ad and sales management experience, Schiller worked at *Disney*, *AOL* and MTV, among other companies. He’ll also be speaking at our upcoming EconWomen conference, on Oct. 29. Release. Former head of the AARP Foundation’s Grandparenting program Amy Goyer joins as SVP-outreach. Goyer will be respomsible for developing programs to enhance relationships among families. During her 15 year tenure at AARP she appeared on numerous TV programs such as NBC Nightly News, the Today Show and the *CBS* Early Show.

Microsoft: Research Danah Boyd has been tapped to join the company’s New England research facility, CNET reports. Boyd will remain as fellow at Harvard Law School’s Berkman Center for Internet and Society, but will finish up her dissertation at the U.C. Berkeley before staying in Boston full time at *Microsoft* Research New England. Earlier, she worked as a researcher at Yahoo (NSDQ: YHOO) and Google.

Epic Advertising: Online marketing vet Rob Wilson joins the company as its SVP and GM for the European division. Previously, he was regional director for both the U.S. and UK markets for Zanox, a Berlin-based marketing company. Last week, Epic Advertising announced naval officer Don Mathis as CEO.

Siegel+Gale: The branding firm has hired *Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia’s* Thomas Mueller as its global director. Aside from working with MSLO as VP creative director, Mueller has worked with Arnold Worldwide and Avenue A | Razorfish. Last April, he spoke on a panel at our second EconSM conference. Release.

Peer39: Former Tacoda CEO Curtis Veibranz has been named to Peer39’s board of directors. Prior to his tenure at Tacoda, Viebranz spent 17 years at Time Warner (NYSE: TWX) and Time Inc., where at different times in his career he had served as president for HBO International, HBO Video, Time Inc. Multimedia and Time Inc. Europe. Also on Peer39’s board are Canaan Partners execs Warren Lee and Daniel Ciporin, former chairman and CEO of, among others.

Avenue A | Razorfish: The company has made three executive promotions, according to ClickZ… John Avondolio is now group VP-client services, responsible for developing strategic communication plans. Brian Krick was upped from his post as search director to VP-search and Ron Wessels was made creative director, having previously served as associate creative director.
