Mpowerplayer, a San Francisco-based mobile gaming startup that provides services for mobile game demos online, has received $2.5 million in its first round of funding. The round includes investments from New Atlantic Ventures, the Center for Innovative Technology GAP Fund, and LaunchBox Digital. The money will be used to expand its widget-based mobile game catalog on the social networks and game sites. Its current clients include EA Mobile and Sega Mobile. More info here.
