Air Canada to offer WiFi on some flights

We recently heard about American Airlines partnering with Aircell to offer inflight WiFi and today the announcement has been made that they are going to offer the same on some Air Canada flights.  Aircell’s Gogo WiFi will be available come spring of next year on Air Canada’s trans-border flights.

"Air Canada has long been recognized as a leader in cabin merchandisingand we are pleased to have Gogo selected as part of that marketingstrategy," commented Jack Blumenstein, President and CEO, Aircell."Adding Air Canada as Aircell’s newest airline partner and firstinternational customer will mark yet another milestone for our company. As we continue to grow our U.S. network and explore our internationalexpansion plans, Air Canada will have the distinction of being thefirst."

I recently returned from an overseas trip that was mostly Air Canada. I was wishing that they had Internet in those nifty seat-back consoles. WiFi would have been better, but anything would have cut it at that point.
