Industry Moves: Troubled ITV Picks New Finance Chief

imageGood luck to Ian Griffiths, the former Emap (LSE: EMA) finance director whom ITV (LSE: ITV) has just announced in the same post. ITV COO John Cresswell said Griffiths will be “working to deliver our plans for improving financial performance”. Indeed, Griffiths joins with ITV in a precipitous state, on the verge of dropping from the FTSE 100 and having pushd back its mightily ambitious £150 million online sales target by two years. Griffiths: “This is an exciting opportunity … I look forward to contributing to the implementation of the turnaround strategy.”

Oh for pitys sake how many more times are new people going to be appointed by companies in trouble, costing them MORE.. and whats the usual result?
WHY has everything changed since the age of the accountant.. HOW did we survive before it. Modern business techniques seem to be the reason for all the disasters of the last few years. WHO is to blame for all this. UK selling out, copying or being TOLD what to do by our `mentors` the Yanks.. I`m early retired and all industry is going downhill even faster now. WHY??? CHIEFS are selling out..
