ITV (LSE: ITV) Worldwide, the broadcaster’s overseas commercial arm, is appointing former Roo sales director Jason Binks as head of digital and new media. NMA says it’s a new position, but in fact it’s to replace Martin Blakstad, who announced his exit from the role in July. ITV Worldwide says it has digitised 1,200 hours of archive content from the last half-century. Binks remit: selling that on to global digital platforms that comes from the Granada International/Granada Ventures amalgamation, targeting distributors including Amazon (NSDQ: AMZN) and iTunes. Again, sounds like another key part of ITV’s aim to make £150 million from online by 2012.
