OnMobile Launches Developer Network; To Open API’s For Voice Platform; Subscription And Billing

OnMobile has launched a mobile application marketplace titled OnMobile Developer Network (ODN). Pluggdin reports Ozone, the marketplace, will attempt to connect developers, entrepreneurs, content creators, technology companies and carriers to build VAS offerings. The platform offers telephony and speech recognition integration amongst others. Currently under closed beta, the product is expected to be open to developers in a few months. As per comments in the post, OnMobile will also be opening up API’s for the voice platform, subscription and billing. Arvind Rao, CEO, OnMobile, had recently stated that they have a “huge software for billing and MIS and on an average the error is not more than 2-3 percent. For content creators operating typically on a 10% or more margin of reconcilation, having a direct channel with both the middle-ware and operator could be very beneficial. Regardless, if the platform picks up, it could help in setting standards, long since absent, in the VAS industry, and provide much needed transparency in both reporting and reconcilation of revenues.
