Cyber Media has launched technology news via SMS through an association with MyToday Dailies. The opt-in service, according to this report, has seen 10,000 subscribers sign up within the first 12 hours of launch. Based on MyToday’s average schedule of send-outs and cost per SMS, the service at these numbers would be currently costing a paltry Rs 1800. However, as it grows, it would be interesting to note who takes the onus of selling inventory. It seems MyToday is hiving off verticals to well positioned publishers to get cost effective both in terms of content creation as well as getting their advertisers on-board.
