No question the HTC Touch Diamond is a sleek, sexy phone with a great style coupled with the TouchFLO interface that HTC is pushing. In spite of how great the Touch Diamond is some folks like a keyboard so HTC recently released the Touch Pro. Now comes word from HTC that they are releasing a brand new phone with the same styling except without a touch screen. The S740 has the same sexy look and feel to the other phones in the line but in addition to the slide-out QWERTY keyboard it also has a traditional keypad on the front.
The HTC S740 runs Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard so touch is not even an option but from the looks of it you could easily do without it. It just looks so darn good. The specs are impressive:
· Size: 116.3 x 43.4 x 16.3 mm (4.58 x 1.7 x 0.64 in.)
· Weight: 140g (4.9 oz.) with battery
· Networks: WCDMA/HSDPA: 900/2100 MHz for EU and Asia
· GSM/GPRS/EDGE: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
· Display: 2.4-inch QVGA screen
· Camera: 3.2 megapixel with fixed focus
· Internal memory: 256 MB flash; 256 MB RAM
· Memory card: microSD™
· WLAN: 802.11b/g
· Bluetooth®: 2.0 with EDR
· GPS: GPS/AGPS
· Interface: HTC ExtUSB™ (mini-USB and audio jack in one; USB 2.0 High-Speed)
· Battery: 1000 mAh
· FM Radio
It has everything you could want except the touch screen and it looks so nice. I keep saying that, don’t I? The S740 is being released in Europe with no word as to when this might be available elsewhere. No word yet on pricing either.
