NetXcell Launches Voice Exchange Facility, Mobismart

NetXcell, the Hyderabad based Mobile VAS company, has launched a hosted voice exchange facility, Mobismart. The demo here explains the flow. Essentially, this is the spam version of SMS on voice. You upload your voice prompt after which you enter the phone numbers of those that you want to reach out to. An analytics system at the end of it tells you how many users have picked/not picked up your calls and those that have aborted it. The cost per call varies between Rs .80 paise to Rs .60 paise per call, according to volume, look at it another way, thats Rs 800 CPM. Just incase your were concerned, there is a SMS campaign system as well. No word on the pricing of that though. Interesting to note that till now, most bulk mobile advertising push-outs are done by VAS providers who license shortcodes, using their existing data-bases, mostly gleaned from users who subscribe to their content services. Wonder how this service will fly in the face of the revised Do-not disturb guidelines which has proposed a white-list as opposed to a black-list system that was being previously followed. I remember Naukri using a similar service for reaching out to users via an IVR where it gave a short voice synopsis of the proposed profile and asked the user to press 1 to submit their CV and 2 to pass on the offer. This does seem like a good opportunity for SME’s to spam the living hell out of their vendors. A good way to invite people to mixers and parties as well.
