Google (NSDQ: GOOG) CEO Eric Schmidt stopped by CNBC this afternoon to chat with Jim Cramer and explain how the company can keep growing despite its massive size. Among the opportunities he touted: mobile advertising. In fact, he feels that mobile could eventually eclipse the desktop: “We can make more money in mobile than we do in the desktop eventually… and the reason is the mobile computer is more targeted. Think about it: you carry your phone, and your phone knows all about you… we can do a very, very targeted ad. Over time we will make more money from mobile advertising… not now, but over time.”
— Android: Guessing when an Android-powered handset will hit the market, has become a popular guessing game. Schmidt isn’t indulging the game much, but insisted that it will be available by the end of the year. He wouldn’t comment on a specific month, and he certainly wouldn’t be egged on by Cramer to make some kind of Steve Jobs-like prediction on the size of the market.
