Anvato Raises $550k To Fight Copyright Violations

Technology to identify copyright violations online has always been a bit dicey. A recent entrance in the space is Anvato, a Mountain View, CA-based startup, that says it can find copyright infringing videos on sites like YouTube and DailyMotion. The company claims it uses “machine-based vision” to see a video the way a human does, rather than some form of watermarking. With the same technology, it also offers a contextual advertising system.
