“Pilots” Pier Screenings in San Francisco This Thursday

The first edition of the 2008 NewTeeVee Pier Screenings is only three days away — it’s this Thursday, July 31! If you’ll be in town, make sure to get your free ticket now.

Just this morning we chose the six videos that we plan to show. The entries were extremely strong and the batch of finalists is excellent, maybe our best ever. But you have to come see for yourself!

We’ll be showing the videos alongside commentary from our expert judges: Martin Sargent, the host of Revision3’s Internet Superstar; George Strompolos, manager of content partnerships for YouTube; and Marie Drennan, interactive media and scriptwriting professor at San Francisco State University. After the videos are screened, attendees — both those in person and those watching our live-stream via BitGravity — will pick the winners via Mozes text-message voting. This month’s theme is “Pilots,” so we’ll be voting on which show we’d like to see a second episode of.

It all gets started at 7 p.m. Thursday at Pier 38, so make sure to get your name on the list by registering on Eventbrite now.

In addition to the kind vendors mentioned above, we’d also like to thank our sponsors ON2 Technologies, G-Technology, VoloMedia, Move Networks, and Digital Fountain.
