The fallout of the upcoming nVidia GPU situation is just starting as Dell has issued BIOS updates for the notebooks they sell with the possibly defective chips. Earlier nVidia filed a report with the SEC that stated the graphics chipmaker was taking a $150 – 200 million charge to cover the costs associated with "warranty, repair, return, replacement" and other results of "our previous generation MCP and GPU products used in notebook systems." Ouch, this sounds like a bunch of notebook models made by several OEMs and sure enough Dell has issued the BIOS update for ten different laptops. This is going to get big and ugly pretty fast, I’ll bet.
