Need a file synchronization tool? Here’s 30 to choose from.

SugarsyncfilesendMashable offers up a  solid list of over thirty different file sync services and tools if you’re in the market for one. Or more than one, for that matter. We’ve covered some of the more familiar names here before: FolderShare, SyncToy, Dropbox, and SugarSync come to mind. But there are plenty of other options out there that I’ve never heard of, ranging from open source tools to other commercial software and services.

Before you look or get overwhelmed by the list, think about your file synchronization needs as well as what device(s) you want to have access to from a data standpoint. For example, it may not matter that some services can automatically send photos to the cloud right from your smartphone (although that is a nice feature). Or it may be important that you can access and sync data across platforms with your Mac, a PC and a Linux box. It’s definitely a personal choice, so defining your synchronization needs and requirements now can save you time later by helping to narrow down the possible choices.
