For as long as I can remember, folks have been looking for calendar sync options between various services and devices. Calgoo is one of the many options, but has had an out-of-pocket cost that may have had you look elsewhere. That all changes based on the news from WebWorkerDaily: Calgoo has gone free, at least in direct, financial terms. The system will be supported through advertisements, so there’s no software license, nor service fees involved.
Calgoo supports synchronization between Outlook, iCal, Google and 30Boxes, so most bases are covered from either a Mac or a PC. I’m looking into any truly mobile benefits from the standpoint of handhelds, but I’ve come up relatively empty so far. Sure you can you USB-sync a device to a computer, but ideally an over-the-air solution would be more beneficial. Might be an issue based on standards as I read this blog post from the Calgoo folks. Still, for free it might be worth the look.
