I really need to start using production software. Believe me, I have loads of fun using beta applications, but I’m supposed to be doing this for a living, so it really shouldn’t be fun to do, right? Oh heck, a little more fun isn’t going to harm anyone, so let me just share this and we can all have fun together. I mentioned LogMeIn earlier today when I noticed that the pre-beta Live Mesh client for Mac didn’t yet have the remote desktop functions working. Let’s circle back to LogMeIn for a sec, or rather to the LogMeIn Labs, where I see a beta plugin for Nokia Internet Tablets.
Hitting this link on your Nokia N800 or N810 will install the browser plugin that enables remote access to your PCs and Macs running the LogMeIn service. You’ll need to restart your N8x0 browser and also ensure that you have the plug-in enabled, but if you do that and click your heels three times, you should be able to remote in to your other clients running the free LogMeIn service. Ok, the heel-clicking is optional, but it adds to the fun, in my opinion. Either way, this sounds like a great use for that 800 x 480 display on the pocketable little tablet, no? I’ll have to try this on the Diablo build of an N800… once I get the battery charged. Seems like the kids were having a little fun too because I always keep the N800 charged. Hmm….
