Have you ever wished you could delete an email message that you already sent? Or send an email that the recipient wouldn’t be able to print? These and other features – such as self-destructing email and messages that you can edit after sending – are features of the free web-based email accounts available from Bigstring.
Of course, it’s a bit of a trick: the actual message sent contains just a link to an image-based version of your message stored on Bigstring’s servers. A sufficiently-motivated recipient can always take a screen shot to save the state of the email at any point. But for everyday users, the bar might be high enough to make a difference. Bigstring also offers their own IM gateway (to AIM, Yahoo!, MSN, and GTalk) that will create “self-destructing” instant messages using the same technology.
