— Jaman announces distribution deal with Paramount: Jaman.com has just inked a deal with Paramount Digital Entertainment, in which many of the studio’s movies, including Beowulf, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Mean Girls and more will be available for rental or purchase on Jaman.com.
— Lonelygirl15 ending to make way for new show, launching social net: The LG15 team will relaunch LG15.com in August with a full-functioning social net with YouTube and Twitter integrated into the platform, and announced it will conclude the lonelygirl15 series on August 1. The company wrote in its blog that a new LG15 Universe show will premiere in its place, picking up where lonelygirl15 and KateModern left off.
— MySpace launches channel with Sid and Marty Krofft: Sid and Marty Krofft Pictures, creators of 1970s and 80s children’s TV shows, have made MySpaceTV its official social net and will distribute its content on its branded channel. The videos will initially include 3-5 minute condensed episodes from seven of the Krofft series, including H.R. Pufnstuf, Land of the Lost and The Bugaloos, highlights of favorite characters and moments, and news briefs on Sid and Marty Krofft. The channel launch comes a year before the premiere of Universal Pictures’ Land of the Lost movie starring Will Ferrell.
— TheWB.com adding videos of old and new shows: TheWB.com has included several old shows in its online roster, including Rosewell, Angel, In Living Color clips, and newer shows, Veronica Mars and Everwood, as well as an original online series, NewTeeVee reports. Dubbed Sorority Forever, the season will have 40 episodes over a course of eight weeks. The site also promises better quality video players, more features through Facebook and the ability to chat while watching videos.
