I was going to wean myself off of the iPhone posts, but since Apple claims to have already sold a million iPhone 3G handsets, it appears I’m fighting a losing battle for now. Fret not, there’s more mobile tech news out there than just what we see from Cupertino. However, I wanted to highlight a company that makes something that I believe will be in BIG demand for the iPhone 3G: more juice! I’m speaking of Mophie, the company that made the first battery extender to garner the "Works with iPhone" certification.
That $99 unit, the Mophie Juice Pack (shown), is for the first-gen iPhones and is essentially a holster and battery solution. According to the company, it adds 250-hours of standby, 24-hours of audio playback, 7-hours of video and/or 6 more hours of web-surfing. Remember, those figures are for the first-generation iPhone. Mophie plans to release a similar solution for the iPhone 3G come September and I expect that as folks surf more with their faster connection, these Juice Packs will be a big hit. OK, I’ll try to make that be the last iPhone post for now… at least until they sell two million of ‘em, or until tomorrow… whichever comes first. ;)
