When Dell first announced the Latitude XT Tablet PC the big news was the capacitive digitizer and multi-touch capability. Unfortunately when the XT started shipping it became clear that the software wasn’t ready to enable multi-touch and that it would be coming "real soon". Real soon means tomorrow according to GottaBeMobile who is reporting that effective July 15 the software upgrade enabling multi-touch will be available from Dell for download. The multi-touch functions sound much like those on the iPhone and iPod Touch with two-finger zooming, double-finger scrolling and a programmable double-tap being stretched to the larger screen.
