JS-KIT, a provider of widgets and services for blogs, has acquired Haloscan, the old commenting platform, often seen on blogspot-hosted blogs, according to CenterNetworks and other reports. Deal terms are not being disclosed. JS-KIT CEO said the company has 500,000 active blog installations, and is in the process of swapping out the current installations with JS-KIT-branded ones, according to the report. There’s something of a cottage industry forming around blog comments right now, with a lot of interest in companies like SezWho and Disqus.
