Hands up: who’s still patiently waiting for T-Mobile’s U.S. 3G network to be lit up nationwide? If TmoNews is correct, it looks like your long wait is coming to an end on October 1st. Bear in mind when I say "nationwide", I’m really talking about 20 highly populated markets. We might have seen this happen sooner, but T-Mo ran into some issues with squatters on the 1700 MHz spectrum they bought: apparently, it takes the government some time to transition.
While the news is rumor for now, or until the company confirms, I think it’s a safe bet to be relatively accurate. T-Mobile was planning for a Android handset by the end of this year, so this conicides nicely with that plan. I just can’t see the first Android device running only on EDGE speeds at this point, but anything is possible. Oh, and you can put your hands down now. I don’t want your arms falling asleep…
