GreatCall, parent of the senior-focused MVNO Jitterbug, has raised a $38 million third round led by Court Square Ventures. Past backers Steelpoint Capital, Charles River Ventures, Nauta Capital led the round, and founders Marty Cooper and Arlene Harris also participated. Last year the company raised $36.6 million. The company has now raised at least $74.6 million, plus an unspecified first round. Basically, the company serves its niche by offering easy-to-use handsets with a simplified user interface. Del Mar, CA-based Jitterbug says it will use the funding to build out its sales channel, while developing new services, perhaps involving senior-focused healthcare. Release.
