Industry Moves: Leap Wireless; Azuki; nuTsie.com; HipCricket

Leap Wireless: Walter Z. Berger joins as CFO and EVP, effective June 23, Trading Markets reports. In his dual roles he will be responsible for all financial activities, including investor relations. Berger joins from CBS (NYSE: CBS) where he held various senior management positions, most recently CFO/EVP of CBS Radio. Leap Wireless’ CEO and president Doug Hutcheson has been serving as interim CFO since Amin Khalifa resigned last September.

Azuki Systems: The mobile media services platform is expanding its executive team with the addition of Andy Roberts as VP-advanced technology and Mark Basler as VP-business development. Roberts joins from Bowstreet where he served as CTO for five years. Basler most recently worked at IMG as VP and GM and earlier co-founded InformTV, where he was also SVP.

nuTsie.com: Guns N’ Roses founding member Duff McKagan is the latest musician on the advisory board of Seattle-based nuTsie.com, a service that makes consumers’ iTunes collections available on their handsets. He joins founding member of rock band The Presidents of the United States of America Dave Dederer, who serves as parent company Melodeo’s senor director of media content. HipCricket: Kraig T. Kitchin is joining HipCricket’s board of directors. He is currently the co-president of Big Shoes Productions and a founder of Sound Mind. Kitchin previously co-founded Premiere Radio in 1987 and served as president and COO.
