It’s been a while since we last looked at the browser share of our audience and since Firefox 3 officially arrived yesterday, now might be a good time for a checkpoint of the last six months. A few interesting observations from the above (and other) data that I see.
- Firefox has actually overtaken Internet Explorer
- Safari has a respectable nearly 10% share. I suspect that most of these folks are on Macs, but there’s a few iPhones in there too. Probably not too many Windows users running Safari.
- Out of the Firefox users: 10% are already running a version of Firefox 3… sounds like we have a bunch folks that like betas and release candidates.
- 72% of the IE folks are running IE7, but there’s a fair amount still on IE6… 27.55% to be exact.
- 80% of our Mac readers are running on the newer Intel platform… 20% are still holding on to their PowerPC devices.
- We have to give a shout out to the 373 readers using Danger Hiptop and the 365 folks reading jkOTR with a Playstation 3. ;)
- Out of the Mac readership, more folks actually use Safari than Firefox by a 3 to 2 ratio. Interesting!
Clearly, this information changes when you shift, extend or decrease the time frame, but I thought a six-month view might be worth the look. Regardless of how you get here and what you use, we appreciate it!
