Adobe Second-Class Citizen of Colbert Nation

The Adobe Media Player, Adobe’s platform-independent online video software, is adding more content from its launch partners MTV Networks and CBS, the company said tonight. But Adobe ends up looking bad in comparison to Hulu, because it only scored clips of The Daily Show with John Stewart and The Colbert Report rather than full episodes.

CBS added clips and full episodes of Million Dollar Password, Greatest American Dog and Flashpoint.

Adobe bragged that its media player now has 15,000 pieces of content and more than 400 shows, but it didn’t disclose how many times AMP had been downloaded. Also, CBS and MTV were AMP’s two big-name launch partners — this announcement serves to remind us that we haven’t heard of anyone else joining up.
