– The Tennis Company: A week after joining The Tennis Company as chairman, Tacoda founder Dave Morgan has hired former Tacoda exec Dominic Schmitt as GM of Tennis.com, where he will be responsible for product development and growth of the website. Sports and digital vet Schmitt was most recently VP of client services at Tacoda and was earlier VP of product development at Barnes & Noble.com. Before that, he served as Director of eCommerce for the NBA.
— Nuance Communications: The company has hired Gary Clayton to be its new chief creative officer, reporting to chairman and CEO Paul Ricci. A 25-year design and creative arts vet, Clayton most recently worked at Yahoo (NSDQ: YHOO), where he was VP of speech strategy. Prior to Yahoo, he spent 7 years at Tellme as its chief creative officer. Release.
— BabyCenter: Parents site BabyCenter has appointed Michael Fogerty as group publisher, effective immediately. Responsible for media revenue and overseeing all content monetization, ad ops and consumer acquisition, he will report to chairman Tina Sharkey. Fogerty comes from Kaboose, where he served as EVP of online properties.
— ITV: ITV (LSE: ITV) has removed the “acting” and made Lee Bartlett MD of its global content unit. Bartlett joined from Fox Broadcasting as COO in April and almost immediately became acting MD, following Dawn Airey’s departure.
— Uber.com: Former MTVN (NYSE: VIA) president and COO Michael Wolf has joined the web publishing platform’s board of directors along with Discover Communications EVP-digital media Josh Freeman and Elevation Partners executive-in-residence Ted Miesel, THR reports. Uber recently received funding form Discover and Universal Music.
