Nokia outs Mail for Exchange 2.5, support for Exchange 2007

Nokiamailforexchange25While it is exciting that Apple is offering MobileMe or "Exchange for the rest of us", let’s not be fooled into thinking that Cupertino is offering the only Exchange solution for mobile devices. Of course, there’s a bazillion Windows Mobile phones that do this natively. Non-Windows phones do as well and Nokia, who licensed Microsoft’s ActiveSync technology a few years back, has their latest and greatest Mail for Exchange client out according to the Eseries blog.

The big news in Mail for Exchange 2.5 is support for Microsoft Exchange 2007 features. Since many Exchange providers are in the process of or have already upgraded from the 2003 version, this is welcome news. Add in another great feature with the ability to edit or set your "Out of Office" reply directly from your Nokia handset. Of course, I’m always out of the office, so I wouldn’t have much need for that feature in particular. ;)

All E-series devices are supported with this free download as are the N78 (that James and Matt Miller are testing right now… hint, hint, boys!), the Nokia N96, 6124 6220.
