Bebo will team with Universal Music for its fourth interactive video drama series, The Secret Life of Sam King. The fictional story of a junior label staffer will feature cameo musical appearances from Universal’s own artists, FT says. The new push in to music comes a week after Bebo’s music VP, London-based Angel Gambino, exited the company. Secret Life follows KateModern, Sophia’s Diary and The Gap Year amongst the social net’s drama commissions. Like them, ad funding will be through product placement integrated deep in to the plot (much like the promo for Universal itself), with Sony (NYSE: SNE) Ericsson (NSDQ: ERIC) signed up for the first three episodes. The handset maker has long said it has repertoire from the label for its much-awaited PlayNow music download store upgrade.
