ISPs deserve blame for the devaluation of music and the decline of the traditional music industry. So do device makers and P2P software makers. Oh and China and Chinese businesses, yep, it’s their fault too. That seemed to be the basic message from U2 manager Paul McGuiness, speaking at an industry event in Hong Kong, reports Variety. The music industry itself seemed to be the only party to escape McGuiness’ wrath. The industry has tried talking to the ISPs about ways to combat piracy but that they’ve ignored their pleas, even though their demands don’t amount to “policing the internet”. Instead, the ISPs are shoplifters “rigging the market”.
