4Info, the mobile search and ad network, in which Gannett (NYSE: GCI) has a stake, has done a new deal with Yahoo (NSDQ: YHOO), where the San Mateo, CA-based startup will provide the technology for Yahoo to publish its content, such as news updates, horoscopes, sports scores and weather forecasts, via text messages that also contain a small ad, reports WSJ. Yahoo can sell its own ads, or, alternatively, 4Info can sell the ads through its mobile-ad network. 4Info has deals with the lines of NBCU, IAC (NSDQ: IACI) and of course Gannett…it says it reaches eight million unique visitors a month and usually splits the ad revenue with the media company 60-40, with the majority going to whichever party makes the sale.
