Industry Moves: DoCoMo; Handango; Uclick


NTT DoCoMo: NTT DoCoMo (NYSE: DCM) is making a bunch of changes to its executive team. Most importantly, Ryuji Yamada will be promoted to President and CEO from Senior Executive Vice President. He replaces Masao Nakamura, who will become a corporate advisor and member of the Board of Directors. Kazuto Tsubouchi will become Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, replacing Masayuki Hirata who is expected to join InfoCom Research. Kiyoyuki Tsujimura, Masatoshi Suzuki and Hiroshi Matsui will all be promoted to Senior Executive Vice President and a number of other appointments are being made — they’re all subject to official approval at the shareholders and board of directors meetings scheduled on June 20, 2008. Handango: Handango has appointed Alex Bloom as vice president of content and international, where he’ll be responsible for defining and executing Handango’s global smartphone applications strategy. Bloom most recently served as General Manager of Motricity’s smartphone business, and before that he headed up content for Verizon Wireless (NYSE: VZ). (release)
