iPhone Round-Up: O2 3G Hints; WWDC Sold-Out; One Phone Limit

Rumors about Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) and its iPhone plans are coming and fast and furious today. Here’s a quick update on everything you may or may not want to know:

— The 3G iPhone will be unveiled “in the coming weeks”, said Matthew Key, Telefónica Europe’s chairman and CEO, who is the key boss of Apple’s exclusive mobile phone partner in the UK and Ireland, reported The Guardian. The remarks were made following O2’s Q1 earnings report, the paper said. Meanwhile, in an investor presentation way far away, AT&T (NYSE: T) Mobility’s CEO today Ralph de la Vega declined to say anything about the timing of the 3G iPhone.

— Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco starting June 9 is sold out, according to The Unofficial Apple Weblog. The event, which will discuss the upcoming iPhone software release among other things, will be keynoted by Steve Jobs. It’s in that address that Jobs is anticipated to unveal the 3G iPhone (although there’s been no confirmation of that). This year’s event may have been particularly popular because for the first time it has a specific track for iPhone developers. For all those who won’t be able to attend, Apple says: “session videos will be available to purchase on iTunes shortly after the conference.”

— There’s been a lot of reports recently of Apple and AT&T stores being sold-out of iPhones. “Effective immediately, customers can only purchase one iPhone device,” according to the BoyGeniusReport.com, which says it has obtained a memo sent out to all AT&T retail employees today.
