paidContent has learned that health content vet Marjorie Martin is leaving About.com Health, where she has been SVP and GM, for Waterfront Media. The company is creating a position for her — the titles are the same, I’m told — SVP-GM — but the situations are different. Waterfront Media, which just this week announced Doug McCormick as its new chairman of the board, may be thinking IPO. Owned by The New York Times Co. (NYSE: NYT), About.com, meanwhile, has yet to hire a CEO to succeed Scott Meyer and may not replace Martin.
Martin and Waterfront CEO Benjamin Wolin were both speakers at our recent EconHealth seminar. (About.com was the venue sponsor.)
