I started using Plaxo to keep my calendar and contact information sync’d between my Exchange-bound desktop Outlook, my non-Exchange bound laptop Outlook and my “I don’t want to use ActiveSync if I can help it” Windows mobile phone. Then I ran into the dup issue. I tried the trial of Plaxo Premium which includes a dedupper.

The Plaxo dedupper identifies duplicates and then allow you to merge data into one record. Plaxo then updates all my clients. I had a couple hundred dups, many of which where exact dups and so those were easy to remove. But I had enough dups that needed to be merged that made the Plaxo dedupper a godsend. I even paid for a year of Plaxo Premium!

James, you called the Outlook Duplicate Remover “divine freeware” which was cool; but looking at the site, the other free software (a Liturgical Calendar for Outlook) is classed as PRAYERWARE: “all I ask is that you pray for us at the Parish of St. Thomas the Apostle, Elson”

– that’s a new one on me :)
